„spill” is a three-channel installation oscillating between photography and focusing on the split-second inertia experienced by masculine bodies in the act of falling. Western culture generally resists falling because of the aversion to shame and failure associated with it. It also represents the actual physical direction of dying, tapping into one of our most primal fears. Advocating for a fall seems to provoke danger or pain. But falling - or failing - can be an agent of change. In this work, the vulnerability of falling is a vital and emancipatory force in redefining contemporary masculinity.
