Exactly on the 50th anniversary of the TV as a Creative Medium exhibition, in his video installation for two television monitors, Grzegorz Stefański dealt with the well-known film adaptation, literally erasing the main characters and their relationship, leaving us only the landscape and the voice of the protagonist calling in vain: “Camille! ... Camille! ....” This is a double reduction of Contempt – a deconstruction of both the film by Jean-Luc Godard and the novel by Alberto Moravia. In a gesture of disagreement with the relationships they depict Stefański redefined the cinema archives, pointing out that “after erasing this type of social dependence, there remain the architecture, nature and movement of the camera – namely „the gaze.” (Barbara Piwowarska)
